I went to a mass at Wash U Catholic student center. It was the student mass so the chapel was lit by candle light and the pews were filled with young students. I could feel the stress in the room slowly fade as the mass went on. There were students who were getting ready to convert to Catholicism. I could feel the genuine joy and true peace they had. As the congregation prayed over them, I could see their shoulders relax as they felt the support of their community. I take for granted the power of the simplistic support of others, but their true joy reminded me of the hope of this community.
